ATTIRE

Proper attire is required for participation in our classes. Being properly attired for ballet includes:
• hair up and affixed tightly to the head (3 and 4 year olds excepted)
• wearing the designated leotard and tights
• wearing well fitting slippers or pointe shoes

Locate your child’s class level on the Attire Sheet to find specific manufacturers, style numbers, and color for leotard and tights.

Purchase slippers and pointe shoes from a dance supply store only. Slippers sold in discount stores and shoes stores are often made of inferior materials and are unacceptable. Please take your child with you to be properly fitted for ballet slippers. Sizing of ballet slippers is different from street shoe sizing.

Small earrings may be worn but no other jewelry is allowed.

If weather warrants, your child may wear a sweater designed specifically for ballet. See the Attire Sheet for the manufacturer, style number, and color. Long or short sleeved leotards in the styles designated are permissible.

Skirts are not required but may be permitted on occasion as a treat from the teacher. Only the style skirt listed on the Attire Sheet will be permitted on such days.
