Kelsey Frobose began her training at En Pointe School of Dance in Lilburn, GA, under the direction of Kathy Thomas-Law. Ms. Kathy encouraged her students to pursue the Lord through dance; to use one's talents to glorify Him rather than to glorify oneself. In 2001 Kelsey joined the Southside Dance Company (SDC) at South Forsyth High School under the direction of Dr. Pamela Walden. When SDC became student-led in 2003, it provided the opportunity for Kelsey to experiment with her own choreography and movement style. She also danced in the Senior Company at Fleetwood Dance Center under the direction of Lynn Fleetwood Dukes.
Her passion for dance led her to enter the dance program as a freshman at the University of Georgia. She was a member of the UGA Ballet Ensemble under the direction of Joan Buttram and Dr. Lisa Fusillo. The Ballet Ensemble traveled to Barcelona, Spain for the Dance Grand Prix in 2007, where they were awarded 2nd place in the Classical Dance category. Kelsey also had the opportunity to work with guest choreographers Lou Conte and Kennet Oberly. She graduated magna cum laude from the University in May of 2009 with a BA in Spanish.
Kelsey feels called to pursue a career in education and to share her other passion in life, Spanish, with her students. She is currently pursuing state certification to teach high school... maybe at a school that also has a dance program? She will keep hoping. Kelsey is so very thankful for Eleanor allowing her to do what she loves to do at Still Pointe!
